Cochin Shipyard Limited, incorporated in 1972 and headquartered in Kochi, Kerala, India, is a Miniratna (Category-I) Schedule-A Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Government of India. The company operates primarily in the shipbuilding, ship repair, and maritime industries. It engages in constructing all kinds of vessels, including aircraft carriers, offshore support vessels, and tankers, as well as performing repairs, refits, periodic upgrades, and life extension of ships. Cochin Shipyard serves both commercial and naval clients globally, exporting approximately 45 ships. It has developed expertise in building bulk carriers, platform supply vessels, and anchor handling tug supply vessels. The company operates the largest shipbuilding and ship repair facility in India and has built and repaired some of the country's largest ships.
