Its movie production and distribution arm operates under the subsidiary Sun Pictures. Sun TV Network's digital presence includes the Sun NXT OTT platform. In sports, it owns and operates franchises such as SunRisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League and SunRisers Eastern Cape in Cricket South Africa’s T20 League. The company's flagship channel, Sun TV, launched in 1993, is one of the most-watched television channels in India. Its operations primarily cover India, including South India, and its sports ventures extend to South Africa.
