BSE SENSEX — Sector Heatmap
Sectors sized by total market cap, colored by market-cap-weighted performance. Click a sector to see its stocks.
The BSE SENSEX sector heatmap on tick2trade rolls every constituent of BSE SENSEX up into its sector and lays the sectors out as a treemap. Each tile is one sector. Tile area is the combined market capitalisation of the sector's stocks, so the sectors that carry the most weight in BSE SENSEX take the most space. Colour is the market-cap-weighted one-day percentage change of those stocks: green sectors are higher, red sectors are lower, and deeper shades mark larger moves.
Weighting by market cap mirrors how the index itself moves. A one percent move in a heavyweight shifts the sector tile more than the same move in a smaller constituent, so the colour tells you how much that sector added to or took from BSE SENSEX in the session. Hover a tile to see total market cap, the number of stocks, and how many advanced or declined.
Click a sector to open the stock heatmap for that sector inside BSE SENSEX and see which names drove the move. Size and colour controls above the map switch the metric each tile represents, and the index selector moves the same view to another benchmark. A sector that is green on a weighted basis while most of its stocks declined usually means one or two large names are carrying it.
Prices and changes refresh through the NSE and BSE session on data served by tick2trade. The heatmap describes reported prices and market-cap weights. It is not research, advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell any security.
