  • Senior citizens typically receive an additional 0.50% premium over the general rate; super-seniors aged 80+ may receive a further 0.10%–0.25% at select banks.
  • FD interest is fully taxable at slab; TDS at 10% applies once interest crosses ₹40,000 in a year (₹50,000 for senior citizens).
