INDIGRID

India Grid Trust (IndiGrid) was established in 2016 as India's first listed power sector infrastructure investment trust (InvIT). It operates in power transmission and renewable energy by acquiring and managing operational power transmission special purpose vehicles (SPVs) and solar energy projects across India. Sponsored by KKR and Sterlite Power, IndiGrid maintains an extensive network of high-voltage transmission lines and substations throughout various Indian states. As an infrastructure investment trust, it is structured with unit holders rather than shareholders; these unit holders receive at least 90% of net distributable cashflows biannually but do not hold equitable or proprietary interest in the underlying projects nor rights related to project transfers. The entity focuses on the acquisition and operation of stabilized power transmission assets and solar energy projects under long-term contracts.
